Mabusoae kililikimabbu 30 November 2003-Concerning those (ex)-prisoners):

“Tama kulabbu, Kunama shuka dabesuma, Kunama kodiasi basharatosuma bubia baddala Erkuna Kunamana fada-koma taggima kikanoa mitakena kogoshake.“
“ You must know that, from now on, Erku (DMLEK) and the Kunama will take heavy provisions against all those Kunama, trading with the Kunama soul (life)and spying on their own fellow-Kunama”.
The above message, not only very clearly and strongly worded, but also seriously threatening, was sent in an article, recently written and posted on the “Erit-Alliance.org “(in the Kunama section), by the present DMLEK’s leader, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman. The title, in Kunama language, of that article was,
“Agara haikabbu hoski Agara Shuka koshshema habia usula komaldia Agara konabbu kotadaki sarosuna,”
meaning,
“the Shabia legacy, surviving on the sweat and consuming the soul (life) of its own people,
shall perish at the hands of its own people.”
There are three major elements, characterising the content of that article:
1.- the stern and very threateningly sent warnings;
2.- the making of very incoherent statements and
3.- the use of an extremely arrogant language, (Kunama).
It is not the first and, we believe, it will not be the last time that, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman uses a very seriously threatening language, to send his messages across, whenever speaking or writing still as the top-leader of the DMLEK. It was in fact, his customary threatening, intimidating and uncompromisingly put-into-practice leadership style which brought to death four of our own and of his ethnic-group members. It is a totally new and uncharacteristically alien to the Kunama peaceful, peace-loving and conflict avoiding people and of their culture, to dispense threatening orders of any kind to its own members, as this is and would diametrically conflict with their egalitarian traditional social structure where an authority is more to serve, protect and safeguard the lives of its own Kunama ethnic-group members, through pieces of advice and reconciling methods, than making recourse to warnings and taking violent means to exterminate their lives. This is undermining the basic human and moral existential principles of the Kunama cultural heritage. Death penalty is absolutely forbidden in the Kunama traditional culture. It is in fact a typically and solely a Kunama tradition not to kill even an enemy taken prisoner, but instead go as far as even integrating that individual into the Kunama society, through a particular ceremony of reconciliation, between the Kunama captor and the captured enemy (cfr. the section of the “Kunama Customs and Traditions” in the www.eritrean-kunama.com).
The present DMLEK’s leader, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman did therefore, not only very illegally kill those four Kunama individuals, but he has also broken a century old tradition of the absolute prohibition and absence of death-penalty within the Kunama society. This is the reason why the VKP’s team and now, also an innumerable number of our fellow-Kunama, both at home and abroad, are calling, not only for his immediate resignation from the DMLEK’s leadership but also that he be brought to a court of justice, as the one who has committed crimes and injustices against humanity. He is not better than the other world dictators, today waiting for their turns to appear in an internal court of justice. Today crimes against humanity have no pardon.
The Ethiopian government as well as the ENA top-leadership, its sister-organisations as well as their leaders should force, even physically, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, from still being and operating among them, trying to control and lead the DMLEK, continuing to send his threatening messages to all those voices raising against him and against his cruelly carried out homicidal acts against his own Kunama ethnic-group members. The ENA should demand another Kunama leader to be elected, from within the DMLEK members themselves to replace him and represent the Kunama people. Mr. A. K. Osman has no more credibility.
In his above-mentioned message, he keeps threatening to take strong measures against “those fellow-Kunama, from now on trading with the Kunama lives,” but he is sparing his own self, even after having detained, jailed, tortured and let die of hunger,
1.- the late Mr. Yakob Ashora,
2.- the late Mr. Adago Auka,
3.- the late Mr. Adum Osman and “per-hanging,”
4.- the late Geometra Hussen Yusuf, accusing him of being the “ring- leader” of the alleged plot against the DMLEK and against its leadership. How coherent is the guy with his own statements, arguments and threats? Why address others and accuse them of the same sins he himself has been and is committing, but now incomprehensibly pardoning himself? What kind of a logic is this?
First of all, a Kunama person never uses an arrogant language to send his/her messages across, unless provoked by acts of injustices against his/her own self or against his/her own ethnic-members, but even then within the limits of an angry reaction but not characterised by a continuous use of the language of a chronically affected arrogance. Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman has been using the language of accusation, defamation and character assassination, not only against his own Kunama people, but also against his own leadership members in the opposition too, accusing them of trying to undermine his person and leadership. If they ever did, they were dead-right, knowing his cruel, dictatorial and cynical person, character and activities.
He is being now accused of using a very heavy hand and taking an attitude of extreme arrogance even upon and within the ENA’s quarters and fellow-leaders themselves. He has come out who he is; somebody who is said to be enjoying a strong backing and utilising it for the imposition of his own name and authority.
Though, in one of its latest writings, the VKP’s team, had proposed to end its direct stand-off with Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, theoretically considering him as illegally holding the DMLEK’s leadership post, it is still being forced to react and it will continue to do so because, practically the gentleman has taken up writing and sending his messages more in the Kunama language, intended solely for the internal consumption of the Kunama public, at home and abroad, and therefore the team will keep picking up the salient points of his arguments to counter-attack him and expose his sinisterly orchestrated intentions. Dictator do neither give in nor give up so easily. Being stubborn and resist is their second nature. They can only be forced out and not expected to step down and Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman is and cannot be an exception. He has to be only forced out.
The VKP ( January 3, 2004 ).
