UNJUST RULERS NEVER LAST!
Observers and commentators
Afar federal Alliance (AFA) of Eritrea. (April 14, 2008) May 15, 2008
After decades of bitter struggle the Eritrean people have achieved an outstanding history of liberation because of their determination, political harmony and many other valuable characteristics.
Following the liberation of the Eritrean land the EPLF/ PFDJ betrayed its people and have snatched the cream of the Eritrean people’s struggle/victory for the interest of one party, one culture, and one man. Since then the Eritrean people have been divided into two: - peoples of Highland (Kebesa) and Lowland. Today this has led to serious accusations of bias politics, nepotism, demographic conflicts and religious disparities.
The constituency of the Eritrean diversity of the nations and peoples are deliberately ignored by the centralist in order to suit the invasion and land grabbing policy. The question is, do we have to repeat the international and regional failed unjust rule? This is neither practical nor viable for civilized Eritrean people and nation. It’s absolutely idiotic!
There is no doubt that the central feudal rule has fallen below the legal limit. Measures are now in position to ensure that no further time is lost for fallen feudal central rule. An alternative to the failed rule and failed leaders of the past 17 bitter years, who executed the Eritrean people. The nation won’t accept the racist/feudal rule because they want to be reborn in just a federal democratic rule. Democracy is an exercise of federal rule whereas federal rule is a practice of justice.
The sad but undeniable fact is that the centralists even in opposition levels are still against diversity and federal/decentralized rule. They continue to present federalism as a tool for fragmentation and disunity. This distorted fact and simplistic vision on diversity rights is not only political deception or political arrogance but it is a clear encouragement to sustain injustice, conflicts/wars and prevent coexistence of diverse people/nations of Eritrea. We totally refuse colonial policy that rest on military occupation, economical, political domination and cultural transformation.
If we ask those who are in the opposition but wish to see the current system continue then what makes them an opposition and what specifically do they oppose? What makes them different from the tyrannical regime of EPLF/PFDJ? We have every reason and right to refuse out of date central feudal rule that have devastated our people and our nations. Eritrea (terranostra) is in need of a new rule, new type of leadership which looks (equally) after the needs of people and the nations in a genuine constitutional decentralized rule that can truly represent the people and the nations of Eritrea, that should have an independent judiciary and the Customary Law. There is no escape mechanism even that central federalism of Ethiopia/TPLF (Tigray Peoples Liberation Front) module cannot save it. The only way out of this mechanism is justice, unity in diversity and mutual recognition of each others rights. Some may argue to compromise the issue; but there are no ideological and intellectual arguments that force us to abandon our rights, main values and principles.
In effect it is not only a matter of injustice and disagreement but it is also contradicting assimilation policy and politics of the centre. The question is not can we live as neighbors’ as we have done for thousands of years? But the main question is how we live together without political constituency and identity. There is no nationalism without nation and small nationalism makes big nationalism. Any nation’s history has enough to produce a sense of identity. Identity is the vertebrae of the nation and it is above the ghiddi and siddi democracy.
Our repeated concern is about to break down in relation, communication etc. The fragile unity we have is in danger especially if the Ethiopia government led by the Tigray People Liberation Front-TPLF (Wayane) invaded with some insignificant, misrepresentative leaders of Eritrea (political coffer) and their satellite organizations.
TPLF is another carbon copy of EPLF/PFDJ that shares the culture of suppression and language of the violence and violation e.g. It has killed hundreds, if not thousands of its own citizens in a peaceful protest in dispute of democracy. In addition TPLF led army invaded the independent state of Somalia, violated international law and presently causing worse humanitarian crisis in Ogaden/Somali (these crimes are well documented by the Human Rights Watch). Moreover currently it is invading over 100 thousand hectares of the most fertile Afar’s agro-pastoralists land and salt fields in the regional Afar’s state.
The prime truth TPLF is sparking a proxy war, regional instability and leading regional asymmetrical war. All these were predicted and published by Mr. Ahmad Gaas in Mustaqilla Arabic Newspaper Ref: 206, April 1998. Thus, millions will face more misery, death and the Afar nation atrocities are worsening in the Afar’s regional state of Tigray who has total control of the Afar state. The TPLF will witness heavy rain before they see the rainbow whereas the Afar and other regional population will face further crisis.
Therefore we need to think rational and strategic to evaluate the dimensions of the crisis and what kind of rule is coming … and on what cost is the challenge? Baring in mind these questions first, then the answer in order to put an end to the human crisis by refusing continuation of pseudo-democracy, misrepresentation and systematic injustice. Similarly we refuse chauvinist policy, invasion politics of the center and replacement of deprivation by oppression that has produced only poverty, instability and wars.
Reliable resources informed us that there is a plan for an emotional political cosmetic change within the EPLF /PFDJ rank in order to prevent war with Ethiopia and to bring an end opposition politics especially to some insignificant divorced misrepresentatives and ruthless leaders.
However any political cosmetic changes in Eritrea doesn’t and will not cure the Eritrean political catastrophes nor will save the shaking state of EPLF/PFDJ. We strongly advice PFDJ to stop national anesthetic slogan of revolution and come out with new (state) vision, fresh fertile ideas and establish genuine political reform that prove Eritrea is for all Eritrean.
The one man state has miscalculated the deep sense of accountability and responsibility of the Eritrean people’s will-power and their determination to bring viable and radical change. Political restrictions, exclusion and economical deprivation of the entire population cannot and will not stay for long. It is a matter of time and we will carry on inheritance struggle for the true cause of our people and nations.
Disaster is looming over Eritrea due to the injustice and irresponsible rule of the EPLF/PFDJ. The inevitable disaster and anarchy can be summarized as an authoritarian conduct of EPLF/PFDJ and it has derailed the democratization and peaceful conflicts management process in Eritrea.
The uncomfortable truth that the Highlanders have succeeded in their first phase of liberation, domination which presently are in the transitional period of the second charter of the struggle, whereas lowlanders are still continuing their struggle in the first charter of liberation. This bolded the economical and political gap that may cause serious political and territorial disintegration and it has become a matter of grave concern for the peoples/nations of the region. Thus Eritrea as a country at the crises stage that requires salvation, Eritrean Peoples/Nations should unite their efforts, responsibilities to save the homeland from ruthless and irresponsible EPLF/PFDJ clique.
Therefore we are appealing to the Eritrean peoples/nations, international community and those others who are concerned for political settlement; enabling multi- ethnic societies of Eritrea to stabilize and to ensure the political development of Eritrea to alleviate the pain , hunger and deprivations.
Justice never fails; victory to justice and peace.
